Game Tips: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

These tips should help you get the hardest goals.  Look for comments on attaining each goal in the future.  For now, make the goals that you can, spend the money on increasing your stats, and when you open a new level do any goals on any level that helps you build up your skater's stats.  By the end of the game, you should easily be able to increase all stats to the max.  My favorite stats are: speed (because the faster you can do tricks the easier to reach the goal), air (because big air gives you time to do big tricks), and hang time (again, a long time with big air lets you do more, better tricks).

The Hanger: to reach 100% on this level, you must find all the secret moves that open doors or that reach the hidden tape.
Here are all the goals: High Score 10,000 ($100); Pro Score 25,000 ($200); SICK Score 75,000 ($500); Collect S-K-A-T-E ($150); Barrel Hunt ($150); Nosegrind Over The Pipe ($150); Hit 3 Hangtime Gaps ($150); Find the Secret Tape ($150); and 100% Goals & Cash ($200).
- There are wires that span the half-pipe, like an arch over the half-pipe.  To nosegrind, skate straight toward the wire and press forward to nose grind as you hit the wire.  Nosegrind along this wire, over the half-pipe, to get "Nosegrind Over The Pipe"
- Grind on the propeller, above the door, to open the door at the end of the half-pipe
- Grind on the helicopter blade to open the door in the other room (jump through the glass).  Go outside this door to find the hidden tape, up the quarter-pipe.
- From the helicopter room, get speed by going up one quarter-pipe, then come jump back into the main room, by launching off (up) the ramp/quarter-pipe fast, as you fly into the main room, you must get high enough to grind on the support for the lights, grinding all the way to the half-pipe to collect the $100 that hangs over the half-pipe

School, Southern California
- The TC Kickflip requires that you find the two trailers.  Come up the ramp and on to the trailer, then kick flip the board as you jump the gap between the trailers
- The hidden tape requires you to improve the stats of your character with Air and Speed.  Go down to the courtyard with the railings.  It has a quarter-pipe at one end that you go up, to gain speed.  Come down and go directly across the courtyard, between the tire skid marks, across the wooden ramps, then up a stone/brick "ramp" to get on the roof.  Cross the roof and go up the ramp to jump the gap between the school buildings - the hidden tape is in the air between these buildings.
- Ringing the bells is hard.  Wall ride the bells to ring them.
- If you can ring the first bell, then you can probably wall ride this first bell, and then jump up on the edge of the roof.  Jump from this high roof to the lower roof, then over the very middle of the air conditioning unit to land on the pole that runs between two buildings.  If you can not make the roof, your skater may not have enough stats [Speed, Air, etc.] to make it to the roof - do all the other tricks or even go on to the other levels you open - then come back with better stats.

Marseille, France
- There is money on the banner hanging over the competition site. Use the quarter-pipe walls, run up them at an angle to hit the middle of the banner and the money.  - You can also get up on the wire that holds the banner to grind along the wire and get the money
- Winning first place requires that you get high point values quickly from your best tricks

New York City
- The is a modern sculpture on one of the lower areas.  You must grind down this sculpture for one of the levels.
- After you do enough of the goals, the entrance to the overhead rail (subway) opens up.  Go up the moving stairway, then across the rail tracks to get up on a roof (going one way on the tracks) or across to the other side of the wall.
- On this other side of the wall is a circular ramp.  Go up the ramp and grind along the wire pole to get the hidden tape.

Venice Beach
- The magical bums move from place to place after you grind them, but always the same way.  Find the first bum.  Then the bum should be along the fence, near and on the same side as where you start.  The bum will also be below, down the stairs with ramp and railing.  Then on the far side, under the wire.  Then around the circular quarter-pipe. [these are the places, I'll have to go back and check on the order].
- Get up on the different roofs to get S-K-A-T-E and the hidden tape
- I still have not found the last two quarter-pipes to jump.  There are two that I've found.  Go up a quarter pipe with a lot of speed and try to jump over the building or wall, or gap, landing on a quarter-pipe on the other side of the building, wall, or gap.

Skatestreet
- I find that the most points can be made in the half-pipe with lots of air, ollies, spins, etc.  This is a place where you can do a lot of high-point combinations in a short period of time.  The half-pipe is to your left at the start.  You can grind down the ramp, go left, then grind the rail, go up the quarter-pipe at an angle os that you land in a grind on one edge of the half-pipe - this gets you more points on the way to the half-pipe.  Stay in the half-pipe and do great aerial tricks.

Philadelphia
- Get S-K-A-T-E to knock down the telephone pole and fence, opening the other side of the skating area
- Grind over the fountain to the opposite roof-top and turn off the valves (grind on them) to drain the fountain

The Bull Ring
- Wires run above the bull ring.  Jump up on the walkway at the seat level of the stadium.  Run up the quarter-pipe, down quickly, and jump off the ramp to get up on the wires.  Once on the wire, grind along the wire to reach the money $$$.
- You get the same amount of money for going forwards or backwards around the loop
